Position Title: Warehouse Operations Supervisor
Reports To: KDS Warehouse Supervisor
Position Summary:
This critical position is trusted to build a high-performance team. You will lead, coach and develop a diverse team to achieve goals that emphasize teamwork, quality, velocity of order flow and efficiency. This role is responsible for all warehouse staff and all typical fulfillment center responsibilities including all activities related to inventory at rest and in motion. Fundamentally, this role will endeavor to leverage our investment in people, machinery, inventory, warehouse technology and systems so that KDS can successfully compete and grow the business
Essential job functions and responsibilities:
Leadership:
- Champion safety first culture. Initiate changes in behavior and environment to foster a zero-injury safety record
- Ensure that our physical spaces, equipment, tools and inventory are maintained and handled with care
- Foster a culture that places priority on workplace respect, teamwork, development of employee skills and attainment of goals
- Comply with HR policies including attendance, general work rules, respect in the workplace and respect for workplace diversity
- Responsible for the timely and complete administration of the performance management process for hourly team members including:
- Annual performance reviews
- Monthly scorecard process including performance coaching and disciplinary action steps when warranted
- Wage adjustment recommendations and associated conversations
- Lead effective daily communication process, sometimes develop presentation materials and contribute to large group meetings
Management:
- Responsible for attainment of major KPI goals for warehouse operations
- Minimum of 98% inventory accuracy
- Minimum of 98% outbound order accuracy
- Achieve dock to stock objectives for inbound shipments (container, TL and LTL)
- Attainment of on time shipping goals as defined by customer expectations
- Attainment of cost center “spending” budget
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives for warehouse operations
- Identify improvement opportunities and effectively organize project plans and timelines
- Responsible for maintaining location accuracy at pick and storage locations
- Responsible for repositioning inventory based on intimate knowledge of sales activity by sku
- Responsible for configuring racking and warehouse workstations for optimal storage and order processing
- Manage replenishment processes to ensure forward pick locations are stocked
- Oversee use of technology to ensure we maximize company investment
- Maintain integrity of 3PL software for system modules under your control
- Development and adherence to work standards and SOP’s
- Responsible for department recruiting, interviewing, staffing, work schedules and coordination of hours to support customer demand
- Maintain adequate supply of consumables (packaging, pallets, etc.)
- Collaborates with the customer service team and other departments
- Plan and schedule inbound deliveries, communicate directly with carriers and customers as required
- Timely and accurate accounting of time and attendance information
- Technical ability to observe and remove bottlenecks in material or information flow

Key skills:
- Must be able to communicate clearly in English both verbally and in writing.
- Must be able to do complex work with computers and typical warehouse software
- Must be technical with the care and application of material handling equipment.
- Excellent data entry and data processing skills
- Proficient in schedule and report creation
- Skilled in analyzing information
Experience/Education:
- Two- or Four-year degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Mgmt or Business Mgmt. is required
- Must have no less than (3) years of experience working in a high volume/variation Distribution or Manufacturing environment
- Must be accustomed to an environment where continuous improvement and attainment of goals, improvement of skills is the culture
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, push, pull, reach, and climb a ladder for most of the shift to perform job duties accurately.
- Lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, and must be able to perform computer work from a standing position.
